Quick Read is for text that isn’t a file: an article, an email, a long message, notes. You paste it in, read it, and it never takes a place in your library.
Paste text in the app
- In the library, tap Add (the plus button) and choose Quick Read….
- Tap the paste button at the top right of the text box, or type.
- Tap Read Text.
The reader opens with the same modes, speeds and pause view as a document. The word count under the text box shows how long the passage is.
Share selected text from Safari or another app
- Select the text you want to read.
- Tap Share and choose Flincth.
- You’ll see Sent to Flincth. Open Flincth and the text is waiting as a Quick Read.
Share the text, not the page’s link. Flincth doesn’t load web pages: a link on its own is read as plain text, and the share sheet tells you so. To read a whole book from the web, download its EPUB or PDF and add the file.
Come back to it later
Every Quick Read stays in the Quick Read section of the library with its own progress, newest first. Drag them to reorder. Opening one again doesn’t use another Quick Read.
To keep a passage with your documents, open it and tap Save to library at the top of the reader. On the free plan that needs a free document place. Saved documents sync with your other devices when iCloud Sync is on; Quick Reads stay on the device they were made on.
To remove one, tap its delete button and confirm. Only that Quick Read goes; everything else stays.
On the free plan
The free plan includes a few Quick Reads a day, and a long passage is cut off at a word limit; the reader shows Read the full text with Pro where it stops. The text box shows how many words you have and the limit, and the bar at the bottom shows how many Quick Reads are left today. Pro removes both limits.
