Speed, without losing the thread.

RSVP reading keeps your eyes still and moves the text instead. Flincth splits it so that it still makes sense at speed.

One word at a time, or a whole phrase.

Read one word at a time, or let Flincth group words into meaningful phrases and short sentences, so you go fast without losing the sense of the text.

iPhone and iPad, in step.

With Pro, iCloud sync lets you stop on one device and pick up on the other, exactly where you left off.

What you read stays yours.

Documents are processed on your iPhone or iPad and never sent to Flincth. With Pro sync on, they travel only to your own iCloud. No account, no ads, no AI.

Good questions.

When can I get it?+

Flincth Speed Reader is coming soon to the App Store for iPhone and iPad. Press Notify me at launch on this page and you will get one notification when it is out.

Can it open Kindle or Apple Books purchases?+

No. Those books are protected with DRM, which the app cannot open. It reads DRM-free files: EPUB, PDF with a text layer, DOCX, TXT, RTF and Markdown, plus web articles and pasted text. Scanned PDFs without a text layer are not supported.

Can I speed read PDFs and EPUB books?+

Yes, if they are DRM-free. EPUB 2 and 3, PDFs with a text layer, DOCX, TXT, RTF and Markdown all open, and a book’s table of contents becomes its sections. Scanned PDFs without a text layer and DRM-protected books cannot be read; see can you speed read Kindle books?

What is RSVP reading?+

Rapid Serial Visual Presentation: the text appears one short piece at a time in a fixed spot, so your eyes stop jumping along the line. Flincth adds natural pauses at punctuation and gives long words a little more time.

Is there a subscription?+

No. The app is free to download, with daily limits. Pro is a one-time purchase that removes them. The 7-day Pro trial asks for no payment details and never turns into a charge.

Do speed reading apps actually work?+

For many kinds of text, yes, within limits: research finds that comprehension drops as speed rises, especially with dense material. Phrase and sentence modes, natural pauses and a context view when you pause are there to soften that. We wrote up what the research says.

Does it use AI?+

No. There are no AI features of any kind, in the cloud or on the device. Text is split by punctuation and simple rules that work in any language.

Does it collect data?+

Your documents, their titles, file names and the text you paste never leave your device, except to your own iCloud when sync is on. The app counts anonymous usage events, such as a finished reading session, to improve it: in the EU, the UK and Switzerland only if you agree, and elsewhere with an off switch in Settings.
