How to Use Flincth in Several Edge Windows

Open a Flincth Split View tab in each Edge window: what each window keeps to itself, what they share, and what happens when you close one.

You can have a Flincth tab in each Edge window, for example one workspace on your laptop screen and another on an external display.

Open Flincth in another window

  1. Go to the Edge window you want it in.
  2. Click the Flincth Split View icon in the toolbar, then Open Flincth Split View, or click a workspace in the list.

Flincth uses that window’s Flincth tab if it already has one, or opens one there. It never pulls the tab out of another window.

Your keyboard shortcuts work the same way: they act on the window you’re in.

What each window keeps to itself

  • Which workspace is showing. Switch workspaces in one window and the other stays where it was.
  • What each pane is doing: the page it’s on, its Back and Forward, and whether it shows its site inside the pane or as an attached window.
  • Its attached windows. They follow, hide and come back with their own Flincth tab only.

What they share

  • Your workspaces themselves: their names, colours, sites, shortcuts and order.
  • Your settings.

When you change a workspace’s layout, the latest version becomes the one the next window opens with. A window that already shows that workspace keeps its own layout.

Closing one

Closing a Flincth tab leaves its attached windows open, in case they hold work you haven’t finished. Open Flincth again in that window and it lines them up with their panes again.
